The print shop lives in room B9 in the main arts hub building and has a bunch of paperworking/printing/binding/etc. tools. Discussion happens on Slack in #printshop. A quick note about consumables. Although the space does provide consumables for the equipment though if you are going to do large jobs, we request that you chip in or bring your own consumables to use the equipment.
Canon Pixma IP8720
A photo printer that can print 13x19 photos.
HP DesignJet 500
Large format printer that can print on 24" paper rolls.
Note on setting up HP DesignJet 500
- If you are setting up your machine to print on this printer, do not download the driver that is embedded with the firmware. It is woefully out of date. Search for the serial number in the setup menu in the printer and use that serial number on the HP website to search for the specific model of the printer (there are many versions of the DesignJet 500) and download the suggested driver from HP on their website.
Xerox Phaser 7760
Laser printer, good for everyday printing. Prints up to 11x17. Can print on both sides automatically.
There's a 1" button maker and a 2.25" button maker in the print shop. Supplies are provided, but please consider donating or chipping in some supplies if you're doing large numbers of buttons.
There's a Trubind TB-S20AP spiral binder in the print shop. You can use it to bind pretty much whatever you want. Binding coils and plastic binding covers are provided. Chipboard covers are coming soon.
There's a Martin Yale P7400 paper folder in the print shop. It can fold pages up to 8.5x14. It's good for making trifolds/brochures or for folding letters.
